All medications (including aspirin, antacids and cough medication) must be ordered by the resident's attending physician. The facility engages a provider pharmacy which supplies us promptly with ordered medications. Residents who pay privately for their stay will be billed directly from the pharmacy. All medications must be given by the nurse. Medications can only be left with a resident with the written permission of the physician. Self-administration of medication is only permitted with the written order of the resident's attending physician and the approval of the facility interdisciplinary team.
